This year Wix released a new Classic Editor. For the most part, the changes are just cosmetic. However, Wix did introduce some changes that make the editor even better.
To start, it will be beneficial to watch our video about the changes:
When watching the videos, you can see that there are some changes that helped level up the Wix Classic editor. For starters, the most obvious change is the "Add" button for mobile. For the longest time, Wix did not have the option to have add elements to mobile. Because of this, I would have to hide elements on desktop to show them on mobile. But now that is no longer necessary.
Another update, which was not included in the video, is Repeaters. In the old editor, repeater item's height was based on the item with the longest amount of content. But now, the repeater item's height seem to be independent of one another. This can create a Pinterest style elements. However, this is not ideal in every situation. I believe there should be a toggle option in the repeater settings for "Independent Item Height". But at this time, there is no work around and has caused me some issues in some recent projects.
In conclusion, I love to see that Wix has not forgotten about the Classic editor. It shows that they are still always trying to move forward and build up the editor that has been around forever.
